Purpose plastic caps brakebooster foot

Hi,

Can someone explain the purpose of the plastic caps in the foot of the brake-booster, there are two see picture, may they be removed ?

The 17mm bolt is this the one that holds the bar that is going to the pedal cluster ?

Thanks,

Peter

It simply seals the passenger compartment from the trunk area.

Also pretty low risk but it could be bad if something like a tool floating around your trunk jammed into the brake linkage.

Thanks Quicksilver,

My question was maybe not so clear but when you remove these caps do you have access to something (bolts/nuts), should i remove these to have access to the nut of the brace ?

When you reinstall your master cylinder you can use your finger to help put the bar in place to accept the bolt. I don't think there is a nut in there, it either threads into the bar or the nut is welded to the bar.
