To Flare or not to Flare!

HI,
I have a 1970 911 E. I would like to install flares to the car, ideally to replicate the RS style. A pelican parts member has a set of SC rear flares for sale. Does someone know if these will fit on my '70 and if so what else would I need to do in order to make this work. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

This will surprise a lot of the guys who know me well, but DON'T do it. If you have a nice "E," but you want it to look more purposeful, you can have the look w/o cutting it up. Drop it, got some deep 7's and build the suspension for something more sporting.

Yes - it's true. There's enough flared long hoods out there now that "we" should start preserving them in their as-built state. I guess theoretically flares will get you better performance by letting you run wider rear wheels but done right a narrow car with 7" wheels all around will give you everything you need. And they really do look cool.

IMHO backdating a SC or 3.2 Carrera is the more ethical way to get a RS replica. Plus you get galvanized bodywork and a 915 transmission, and your schoice of dependable strong motors.

That all said, I understand what you're doing and why you're doing it, and the answer as to whether they'll fit has been answered.
