1972 T chain ramp question

Can the chain ramps on a 1972 T 2.4 with MFI be replaced dropping the engine?

Yep!
You will have to remove the engine mount to get the shouldered bolts out of one side (left?) and you will have removed the engine tin from the rear. Be very very careful with the ramps which fit into the case near the center. Some people have lost these into the case. Not me, but some people.

Yes.

1. Remove muffler.

2. Remove two rear-most pieces of engine sheetmetal.

3. Support engine at normal ride height with small/short jack stand or bottle jack.

4. Remove engine mount crossmember.

5. Remove rear 'console' or engine mount.

6. Now you have access to remove chain covers, and can remove/replace chain ramps! Needle-nose Vise-grips are your best friend ... grab each ramp [inner four] before removing the two retaining bolts.
