Please tell me what this part does????????
Carrera 3.2 1986 Euro spec. UK reg. car
I'm thinking the part is a vacuum hose for the power brakes, I've been stripping the inlet manifolds off to replace the gaskets (3 out of 6 had "sucked in" ) and I noticed the rubber connector on his pipe had perished. Obviously I'll replace the pipe ($145 ouch), but I'd like to know its function, my Bentley manual doesn't seem to mention it. http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/smart/imgdsply.cgi?pn=93011032803-M100&html=Y Thanks in advance Mark |
That's what I heard as well. Instead of paying for a new line, can you take it to a hydraulic shop and have them put a new hose on? I replaced mine, only to find out later, that a lot of guys have theirs repaired for a lot less.

Thanks for the advice Dave, I'll take it to the local hose shop tomorrow. What I wondered was if it is a vacuum hose and is sucking in air, was this contributing to my engines rough idle? What symptoms did your spilt hose give?

Yes, vacuum line for your brakes. Mine was cracked and I wrapped it in some of that self-sealing rubber tape. Held up for 3 years now.

Cool and probably for less then buying new one! I did keep my old one and plan on getting it repaired one of these days. Dave |
a short piece of heat shrink tubing takes care of that real cheap.

Does the cracked hose can produce engine misfiring?
