Should I lower and how much

I have a 70SC ROW with 17" Cup wheels.
No car hear so I don't know the size of tire.

I would like to by the Moses Fuchs this winter.

Heres the real question:

Does it look like I can go lower.
What do i need to do or I guess what do I need to buy to do it right?

You can go lower. How low you go is going to be determined by what torsion bars you are running and what your camber is set at etc.

My car is lowered to much for most peoples taste but I like it. If my car was not set up for the track then I would have had to have been more conservative while lowering my car.

There are quite a few threads on lowering on this board but make sure to plan on a corner balance and alignment when you are done lowering your car.

1) read as much about ride heights and lowering in the threads you search here.
2) measure your current ride height at each wheel on a level ground. write it down.
3) decide whether you need to rebuild (revalve) or replace the shocks.
4) decide whether you need/want to go with bigger torsion bars.
5) decide whether you want to put in new a-arm bushings. search for how to check whether you need new bushings or not.
6) PLAN on new spring plate bushings. Decide whether you want ER polybronze, polygraphite or neatrix.
7) plan on a bump steer spacer kit for the steering rack if you lower the car.

Lowering below Euro spec for the street could give you some handling issues. (steering and shock travel)

lowering the rear is going to be the biggest job for a first timer, but very doable. research the archive. Plan on not driving the car for a couple weeks while you work on it.
Take lots of notes and/or photos as you go for reference. Once everything is back together you WILL need a 4 wheel alignment and corner balance. Budget for that.

Yes, you should lower your car.

A rule of thumb is .5" higher on front. I'd say around 25" from ground to fender lip is the easy way to go.

Lower it until the gap between the tire and fender lip is gone.

Danny - quick question, what fasteners did you use to attach the arches on your car. Do you have details and more pics?

Low is good. Considerations need to be made for Torsion bar size, tire size, tire profile, camber and toe settings.

I didn't do the bodywork. It appears the fastener is a flat large-headed slotted stainless bolt with chamfered edges. I don't have close-up pics, but they appear proprietary to the kit...they don't look like something bought off the shelf.

Very nice looking car. Lowering will bring the look to fruition but beware, the rear is a PITA. Don't ask me how I know.

Personally, I think the car looks good and wouldn't lower it. Can you post the numbers....ground to fender through wheel center. I am in the process of getting mine setup and would like a good reference. If you just wanted to, I would think a .25" drop all around would be as much as you should go but would still need an aligment afterwords.
