I'm the same model year, (69) but my car was built 1 year before I popped out.

If I were a car, I'd be a '70 model, since I have a 12/69 production date.

My 69E would have been built in 68, I was "as delivered" in late 67 and probably would have fit perfectly in the back seat.

I was old enough to appreciate 911's when my car was built in 1968 -- but 11 years shy of being able to drive one. And it was many more years before I was able to afford it.

Yea well -- I'm about the same age as Porsche serial #001! And my '71 was built about 3 yrs before I joined PCA.

The first 911 I bought was in 88'. I was 34 at the time and could only afford a beat up 67' but had plans of converting it to a Carrera/SC look. After buying it though I fell for the early longhood, green gauges, and britework look. I've been hooked ever since. My dream car for many years was a 72' 911S but now I like them all pretty equally 69' to 73' T,E or S Coupe or Targa.

My dad was only 12 when my car was built, and it would be another 15 years before I was built myself!

Our ’71 was built 3 months before I bought my first house. A friend bought a new ’72 sunroof coupe a few months later (right around my closing). They cost about the same to “get into”. He drives a pickup now. OK it’s a “Harley” but he stills talks about the Porsche. Which he had less than two years, and sold to buy a house, right after getting married! New wife didn’t like the idea of him driving a sports car… decided right after the wedding. Marriage lasted only slightly longer. There were apparently other things she didn’t like but couldn’t figure out how to get rid of so finally traded up (bald lawyer).

i was born in 74. used to have a 64 chevy, so that had me beat by 10 years.

thought i might go with a 356. liked the round body. too expensive.

looked at the early 912's. someone convinced me they were just as expensive to restore as the 911's, and not nearly as much fun to drive.

found out that 1972 had the only external oil flap, and i was hooked. been a labor of love ever since.

If I had an early 356 as old as me, I'd have my retirement sewed up. I was out of high school and working on race cars before the first production 911 ever appeared.

Good god, as of a few days ago it seems I shifted into a new age bracket.
I'm still 2 years senior to my eleven, but share the same "introduction" year. And the car still looks better...
