Can we talk door handles..........

Ok so the drilled ones on left, are what came with car.(ugh) Obviously they have the correct barrels and tumbler for the key,I want to use.
The handles I want to use are the early 912 68/69ish ones on right(I need one more)
I presumed that the barrels /tumblers would be interchangeable.Obviously they are not.
Option is to find another handle to make up my pair.Firstly, anyone know as to whether they are sided?
im sure they are not, even though they have different part numbers.
I will then send original key and barrels to a locksmith, who should be able to cut new key, or move tumbler/pins and make my original key fit.
Comments/Advice always appreciated

'69 was the one-sided small Volkswagen style key. '70 started the larger 2-sided key with the plastic head. It makes sense that the lock cylinders would be different, though I had never given it much thought.

And let’s keep in mind, the ‘69 and earlier cars had a separate key for ignition versus door locks. So, if you are backdating the door handles, you’ll be in the same situation.
