seat back release wire busted........

Hey guys,
Took a friend for a drive the other night, needed to put the beer cooler in the back, and release lever was all the way at the top...couldn't get the seat back to lean forward!

I removed the seat this morning and found that the release wire was busted. Anyone know where I can get a replacement wire? Is this just standard length wire that any auto parts place would have?

I looked here at Pelican, no luck.

Thanks.

If I recall correctly, the cable (on mine anyway) had a "crimped end" where it attached. So even if you had a generic piece of cable, you may have to fabricate a way to attach it??

Have you taken the seat apart yet?

I didn't take the seat apart....I was hoping to get a new wire and "fish" it up the side of the seat to the lever. The wire has a bead at the bottom of the wire that attach's to the lever that releases the seat at the bottom.

I haven't taken the lever apart on the side of seat back yet to see how the wire attach's to that.

In thinking about it, the wire is probably standard length that you attach at the bottom, fish up the side, tie off at the lever, then tie off.

Any help would be great.

This part should be available at the dealership. It is not a hard fix if it is like my VW which had both cables snapped. I never opened the SC seats tho... Let us know whats in there.
