seat rail mount threads missing
I was measuring for the fabrication of a set of seat brackets, and realized that although my stock seat rail mount holes are all in line on the drivers side rocker, the captive threaded pieces that the rail bolts normally thread into are missing.
They are present on the passenger side and all threaded holes on the tunnel are fine. I had the floor pans replaced and I know the previous owner had done some work on the rockers, but has anyone else experienced the disappearance of these pieces? On the passenger side they can move around but can't get far... Any suggested remedies? At this point I'm thinking I will have to weld the bracket on. Thanks! Nick |
Seat rail threads..........
Why not just use a nut and washer (under the rail)? The captive nuts are held in place by a spot welded piece of sheet metal probably to make the factory assembly easier. There is no reason why you HAVE to use the same system. If necessary, you can get some of the square nuts as used originally.
Hope this helps! |
I can't get at that area to hold or place a nut. I'm not using the rails that bolt in and extend into the car over the floor pan as I've seen in a couple other cars.
I'll try and take a photo... Nick |
