Steel to Aluminum Banana Arm Conversion
I'm in the middle of converting my rear suspension from the old steel arms to some late model Carerra aluminum ones. This is part of a coil-over conversion on my race car. I've installed 935 style spring plates, and I have the banana arms in the car but I don't have the two completely attached to each other yet.
Here is a link to the parts diagram I'm referencing below. Parts_Diagram I saved all the nuts and bolts from the steel arms I removed. Because the mounting points on the aluminum arms are thicker, some of my bolts are not long enough. I'll be heading to the hardware store to get some longer grade 8 M12 bolts for the two attachment points on the very end of the spring plates (#21). The eccentric that is part of the sway bar mount appears to be OK (#26). The other eccentric (#25) is the one I have the biggest question about. I just need to confirm the later bolts for the aluminum arms are indeed longer before I order these ridiculously expensive bolts. There is also a note that these parts may only be available in Germany. Does anyone have a set of these sitting around they would be willing to sell?? I think that bolts #18, #19 are the adjustable spring plate eccentrics, so I don't need them. In addition to those bolts, I also need two sets of 18mm thrust washers and spindle clamp bolts for the front. My Koni struts had the 16 mm spindles, and the Bilsteins I have now are 18mm.

Yep, you need all that longer/bigger harware. Would have been nice if it came with your new trailing arms. I was able to find everything at a local nut and bolt type hardware store...except the eccentric bolts. You will also need new rear shocks to get a larger diameter bottom mount to fit with the larger bolt. Also, if you are running SSI's, you will have clearance issues with the shocks but you can massage the SSI with a hammer and some vice grips to make more room.
Good luck!

The shock mount bolt is bigger too? Those along with the mono balls and associated hardware were on the arms when I received them. I'll have to go to the garage and make sure that bolt fits the new Bilstein Sports with the coil-over over I have. I had no idea that would change. No SSI's so that won't be an issue. Still hoping someone has an extra set of the longer eccentrics they could sell me. New price is $91.50
