will a 944 seat belt fit an SC?

To expand the question, will an 944 (86 in particular) front seat belt work in an 82 Targa?

My drivers belt is a bit frayed and wont retract with out help (as some other recent threads have the same problem. Did some ebay searhing... and thus the question.

Thanks

Jay

the 82 911 have a 928 part number
the 86 944 have a 944 part number

they would probably fit, but you might have problems with the interior not fitting over the 944 one, i think a 944 has more room then a 911 has , in that area.. so it might be a bulkier unit

Thanks,

I've been tracking down the part numbers, thought it was odd for the 928 part number.....

I installed 944 front belts in my SC. The only mod Ihad to do was to enlarge the mounting hole for the bolt that holds the retractor in place. I believe mine came from an 86 944.

I also have 944 seat belts in my sc. They buckle right into the sc receivers. I had to enlarge the locating hole and also grind down the locating pin on the seatbelt itself since it was about twice as long as the one on the sc belt. Not a hard task so if you found a cheep set I say go for it.
