Alt. light on only after turning key off?
 

Just put new Alt on and ran good down the road after stting for several..alot..of months, But Alt. light comes on only after turning key off?

What year engine and car? Which alternator brand?

The car is a '69, the engine a 74...with external reg. I bought the alt from EBS Racing, nice guys, never any problems. When I removed the Blue wire as it says in one of my books the light went out, now how to fix the problem that seems like it might be the Diodes. Really don;t want to go through getting another Alt, this was a new unit not a rebuilt one. I think the brand is a Valeo?
