Keyhole in the door?

I tried to search, but I couldn't find anything.

I just found this keyhole in the side of my drivers door in an 1981 SC.
What is it for?

You've located how to arm and disarm your alarm system. I believe when armed you can open the door app. 9" without the system going off. This gives you enough room to reactivate the alarm.

arms and disarms the alarm......you'll be lucky to get the door open far enough to disarm it without it going off first. It uses a special key, not your ignition or door key.

Ha, thanks. I was going to try with my ignition key. With my luck I would be able to arm and not disarm.

you can increase the amount that the door opens before the alarm goes off, if you put a washer underneath the door switch. You have to hold the black plastic plunger while you unscrew the the threaded switch base, or the wire will come of and most likely be lost inside the door post.
