Radu's GT2 is on the streets of Los Angeles

Radu's out and about, so I'm posting the first pics of "the beast" on it's first evening out. This was about 5 minutes before the throttle linkage came disconnected just past the end of the tunnel. I went home and got a jack, jackstands, and tools. We fixed it right there in the Ralphs/Starbucks parkinglot. We got a lot of weird looks.

This car is much scarier in person.

it's getting a new design X-brace. The three bar NASCAR cage was too much for the street use.

Thanks Dave,

It still needs some sorting out-too much front camber for highway-but should be done soon. Call me tomorow afternoon if you want to go for a drive.

That car is driven on the street? Without padding on the cage? ??

I drive my car on the street... occasionally... 1900 or so pounds with a ~350-370 bhp 3.8. But I don't drive it without extra cage padding in the head area.

Got any pictures of teh front trunk area?

Hey Milt, he's gonna need those slicks with the horsepower that car has. It's got a 3.8 ltr. race engine. Probably has 360 horsepower. And with a lightened chassis...Holy Moly! Rocketship to the Moon!

We all know with that power it goes VERY fast.

Do you get much heat transfer inside the cabin with the oil tank sitting right there with no shielding and the oil feed line running right down the tunnel?

I saw Radu and his car today. Looks nice, needs new tires . The throttle cable broke this afternoon and after a a phone call to scare up some jack stands and a jack, and a run to a parts store, the car was on the road after a impromptu roadside repair session. His left rear tire measured, no wait it did not register on my tire gauge. Using my portable air comp, I was able to get the pressure up to a whopping 25 PSI. Anyway, enough to get him home.

Nice car Radu, time to the final small issues fixed. Looking forward to seeing the car in its new colors.

Dave
