I'll be there! Can't wait. I'll be driving from Los Angeles, probably stopping overnight in Phoenix. Anybody want to convoy?

I will be driving in from Pennsylvania in a pickup truck! The drive isn't too bad from the east coast. It should take about two 18 hour days and 2000 miles to get there. At least that is the time I did it in with a Defender 90 and my girlfriend following in a RAV-4, a 911 might be a tad quicker .

Last years event was organized beautifully, the cars were spectacular, and the people were even better. If you really want to get to the basics of enjoying a 911 there really isn't a better place or group of people to do it with.

I for one can't wait to take in some deep breaths of fresh Colorado mountain air laced with MFI exhaust running a little rich at altitude, yee-haa. Look forward to meeting a couple new pelicans this year.

Rich

Sounds like some fun driving. Now if I can only piece together an interior and some street tires for the trip. Any problems with a Cayman S tagging along? A friend should take delivery of his by then. We'll need a camera car, right?

Chuck,

You should do it. I will be assisting on the drive from LA to Phoenix with Scott. He will be spending the night here in the foothills area. Then off, solo to CO. I can't take more time off from work this summer than the 4 week of vacation I have planned. Seriously.

Let me know, if you all want to hook up. I would assume that he would be going up the 17 towards CO/Utah to get to the 40 NM then to CO.

Cheers,

P.S. I was on the dirt paths of Cave Creek yesterday. Isn't that where you live? Not that I know where you are, I just thought you were in the CC area on a dirt road.

Mike

mad mike yes i live on a funky bumpy washed out road in cave creek. i am just south of boulders 5-star resort. front window looks out on black mtn.(volcanic) and the boulders(granitic). been here since dinosaurs roamed and better yet when we could be rednecks and drink mega-beers and shoot .22's to .375 H & H's off my freeking porch! vaporizing lil bunny wabbits and rock squirrels.

try that NOW! i'll predict w/in 5 minutes the MCSO SWAT team would be hauling me off to 4th ave jail!

yes those were the GOOD OLD DAYS!

i am very interested in making this run. just have to coordinate time w/g/friends biz. car is ready to launch as i speak. traditional escape from hell date are the same as this. cant think of anything better. will start chatting this up tonight w/bill johnson and see if he wants to take his 70 911 also along w/his wife.

spent alot of time on dirty bikes and jeeps running the passes in college and then as an adult. hell we made ouray 2nd week of july last year coming over from utah. so yeah thats gods country ie. THE SPIRIT WORLD!

i am all for it! nothing better than the REZ AT NIGHT! LOL!

If you guys want something else to mull over, Bob Dylan is playing in Town Park, Telluride, the evening of July 21st. I already have tickets!!! I just thought I'd throw that out there for consideration. As if you didn't have enough to do already...

Josh,
Hurry up & get "Pepe" done & drive that car down to Durango
next month. The roads & scenery are simply spectacular !
Camera Caymans cars are welcome...just be advised the MFI odor in the back row can get a bit strong

Who else is road-tripping out from El-Lay ?

Mike,
I'd like to to see if a can make this one. All the better if I can join up with a Pelican flight headed up to Durango. If you're coming up to 40 you'll be coming up 17 most likely unless 93 is closer. Either way I can coordinate a meeting spot and catch on along the way. There may be one or two more cars with me too.

Sounds like it could be a fun run. I'll PM you to see what need need to do.

This may be a dumb question but I have an '87 coupe that I'd love to bring. Are other years invited or is this strictly an older 911 event?

I may be speaking out of turn here, and if I am I appologize, but I do believe the 911E group will welcome all 911's, just as a later model you might have to ride in the back of the pack. It is kind of a right of passage to follow behind MFI tuned for sea level at 10,000 ft.

Rich is correct all are welcome, but any post 1973 Porsche car has a designated spot at the back of the pack
At least once in your life, you really need to experience the aroma of MFI at altitude. The scenery is so spectacular you will want to be off the back anyway

Nigel~ Car 1st but not you? Damm, I was looking fwd to meeting
you. As you say...next year !

Scott98 ~ Come on up from 'Querque with your 87

fly4val~ Everett to the Moab area...sounds like the transfer of
a lifetime! Ask me how I know...I spent 18 yrs in the NW
rain. Please join us.

Donny ~ There will be a group caravanning up from the PHX
area Thursday morning July 19th.
Stay tuned to this thread for details on that as we get
closer.
