Fuel cell install
I'm putting in cell in a 69s. I was going to place it in the opening side ways. But found out I would have to cut the body (which I’m not going to do).

MJ....so this is a 'generic' fuel cell, NOT specifically made for a 911? So you will be having to fabricate the mounting brackets, attaching points, etc.?
Locating pickup: What little experience I have with them, you need to know how the baffles are located internally. Rotating the cell "could" cause fuel starvation under extreme cornering, braking or acceleration. Best to ask the mfg. I.M.O.

Should be just fine like that, we have mounted cells in either orientation depending on the size.
For fuel pickup you can do a few things, i.e. have more than one pickup on the side that will see the most fuel, left side, for right handed tracks, etc. Or even better is get a surge tank to drop in the cell , and use a in-tank pump located in the surge tank.

I've moved the pick up towards the drivers compartment. I know a surge tank would be good, but I'm running out of time and money. I'll give it a go as is.... if it starts to starve for fuel I'll add the surge tank.
