I bought a new headliner first and then started reading about how it is done second. The thing that has stopped me is the removing-the-windows part. Did everyone who replaced their headliner remove their windows? I've found a place that the local club says is the only place in town to go get windows removed - I thought about driving there, getting the windows removed and then driving home windowless... and then replacing my headliner. It looks almost mandatory to get the edges of the headliner underneath the window rubber.
