Question about velvet upper door seal

Hi all

I'd need to know the exact length of the velvet upper door seal. My car is a 911 carrera, coupe, year 1985.

Recently I ordered new seal for my car (according to PET, for car between 1974-1985, part numbers 911-542-403-01 / 404-01, left and right). After removing the old seals, I realized that the new seals are approx. 2 centimeters (0.787 inches) shorter in length that the old ones.

Maybe they sent me the wrong seals? it looks like that for cars from 1986-1989 the part numbers are different (911-542-403-03 / 404-03).

Both seals (old and new have 15 holes for the mounting screws). The problem is that having different lengths, the first hole in the new seal doesn't match with the holes already drilled at the door opening. I don't like the idea of drilling new holes in my car.

Would you mind checking the length of your seals ? Please specify year of your car. I just wanna make sure they didn't send me the wrong part.

Thank you very much for your help.

Miguel
