AC Venturi type air pump........

Has anyone had experience with the low priced venturi type air pumps? I am looking for an inexpensive pump to use to check for vacuum leaks in my Pcar ac system. I already have an air compressor that should provide the necessary air output (4.2 cfm). I also already have a set of guages and hoses.

No personal experience, but people here on the board have called them useless and a waste of money.
