Recaro Seat question - mounting??

I am looking at a used set of leather pole position's with the brackets included for a 996. Will these bolt straight into a 1990 C4 911/964 or are the spacings / patterns different?
Thanks
Sam

The side mounts shown in the picture look like 90 degree brackets to me. 90 degree side mounts on pole positions should go directly onto a C2. I believe the spacing is 16" between seat rails on 964s.
I think the most you'd have to do is drill holes in the side mounts to line up with whatever sliders you are using.

Those seats are a good deal if they are as nice as the pictures show.

Be aware your inside seat belt anchor is part of the OEM seats. You'll need to do something for that anchor pt if you're using stock seat belts.

I also have pp seats and have done lost of slider/ side mount combos if you have any questions.

Thanks!

I hadn't thought about the anchors - all my pre-85 911's had always anchored to the tunnel.....

What are thoughts about blackl eather seats in this interior...

Anyone ever secured the S/B anchor to the inboard Recaro seat brackets??
The load would still be carries through the sliders (doesn't seem ideal but is how it is now) but I am unsure if it will fit....
Thanks
Sam

I did the drilled side mount approach for a while. There are options available that replicate the factory bracket. Brey Krause makes a bracket for the inside anchor. Or on non power seats 86+, the anchor bracket is not welded onto the sliders. You can reuse this OEM bracket. If your pass side seat is non power, you can use that bracket. I have an extra bracket from my many seat changes. You can have it if you need it.

Your interior looks nice as is. Are you planning to track your car?

Don - Thanks for all the info.

I have power seats both sides, are the anchors on the sliders or the seats? eg when I remove the seats will they go too??

All my previous cars have anchored to the tunnel but this is not an option...

I probably wont track this car, I am 6'6" though and had PP's in my last track car. I found them really comfortable and liked the seating position. with that said this seems like it may be a PITA so I may leave well alone... (I am moving back to CO in 10 days and running out of time...)

Thanks
Sam

The seat belt anchor is part of the slider but on power seats, the sliders are pretty much part of the seat. You can remove the sliders but the sliders have a large triangular bracket that creates the track for the vertical movement.

I'm 6-3 and there's no way I have enough leg room without sliders so I assume you'd need sliders as well as a seat belt anchor. Speedware probably has sliders in stock if you end up with these. Here's a pic. of the bracket you can have along with a shot of the Brey Krause bracket I have in my car. With sliders you can get one seat in.

It may be too much of a pita given your time crunch. If you need more leg room, you may be able to move your stock seats back an inch. If the 964 seat boxes are the same as carreras, there's two sets of mounting holes. My seats were installed on the front holes. It doesn't sound like a lot but it's noticeable. Plus you gain a little head room since the rails angle down as they go aft.
