C2 decklid additional switch?
I really put effort in it but failed to find the right info. I got a working original speed sensitive control unit (964.618.212.00) for my C2 decklid. The question is: does this control unit provide for an overrule switch?

Curious, I've got a 3.2 motor and a chassis of '76. No ABS there. I think it's hooked up to the speedometer.
However, the question is: does the control unit allow for an override switch for manual purposes? The automatic function is fine by me. |

So you think I got some ABS stuff in the car, like the break disk sensors or so? It is working, but i'm pretty sure that the ABS is not working or isn't there. So the C2/C4 have standard switches for that. All I need is a wire diagram and a proper switch, right?
Can you help me with that? All I can find on the forum is the autolock method, which I don't need since I got an original control unit. |
I don't know how is has been set up on your car (you have no ABS), but it's supposed to raise at around 50 MPH (after around 3 sec.) and retract at around 7 MPH.
Send me a PM with your e-mail address and I will send a copy of the wiring diagram. |
Please send me one, too. You don't take emails, but I do thru my user name. TIA

Thanks Pingo, I've sent you an email address. Regarding the hystrese of the decklid control, it indeed works like that, although I'm not sure about the exact thresholds (I think it raises at 50KPH). Principally, it could be hooked on the speedo sensor of the tranny, I guess.

Milt, I learned that the override switch is easily connected. The override is basically connecting pin 11 (of the control unit) to either the deck open or close micro-switches (pin 9 or 10 respectively).

Thanks. I'll add that info to my file.
