Stuck Spring Plate

I'm in the middle of replacing my rear torsion bars today. The spring plate on the drivers side does not want to come out. I'm prying at it but it won't seem to budge.

Anyone ever deal with this recently?

quite common.. if you cant get it out by heating it, or prying,. and Im assuming you have the other side out,.. stick a rod through from the other side and try to 'punch' it out that way.
