B4 & after/K&N or rainshields?
Hey everyone, here are some b4 and after shots of my webers that I rebuilt(dropped a chain tensioner and redoing the carbs and engine compartment mushroomed into a "while your in there" project). My cars are only going to be driven in dry conditions and I'm debating on leaving the K&N's on(even though I just had the rainshield powdercoated). What do you guys think?
Thanks, Nikitahttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1187706472.jpghttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1187706612.jpghttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1187706704.jpghttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1187706776.jpg |
Looks good!

I would go rain shields simply because you never know when it may rain, and why get stuck if it does.

plenty of road dirt to wear your rings on LI, especially sand.
keep them oiled every year or 10k miles. I marked the base inside of mine so I don't put them on backwards. party hearty |
Nikita,
Those look good! Hopefully leakproofed this time.:D There are some pretty neat fuel blocks that replace those two banjos and the pc of tubing on each carb. It also has a screw-on filter built in for each side. Made by the guys at PMO I think. They look good & do NOT leak. |
Thanks! I love the looks of the solid fuel bars too but, thats not where my leaks were coming from. I wish it were that simple!

On,
My 914-6 I used 5/16th clear lexan and cut it about 1.250 inches larger all the way around the K&N cover this way water could never get to the filter and I could see down the throats of the carbs anytime very easily.. just a thought |
