Rubber covers for Turn/W.Washer Stalks

Pelican just emailed me that today I will be receiving my replacement rubber covers for the turn signal and windshield washer stalks.

Do anyone have any experience replacing these. I have found the removal difficult but doable. How has the install gone? What glue did you use and what prep work did you do.

Thanks,

Left Coast Dave

Got the rubber ends/covers today. Very disappointed by the QC. The parts are straight from Germany, but it's obvious that no one who knows our cars (or helped put them together) has ever looked at these. They have a ridge running circumferentially around the pieces where the molds did not fit together well. I am attempting to trim this off, but it will still show.

Also, they are not as black as the originals. I will soak them in Armor All etc. and see what happens.

Rather than Armorall, I'd use one of the black restoration products you can get at detailing shops. Armorall will just make them greasy....

Here's a link to Black Again: http://classic-motoring.stores.yahoo.net/blackagain.html, and a link to Forever Black, which is a similar product: http://classic-motoring.stores.yahoo.net/forblactrimk1.html
