Try this link first:

If you need more info, do a search on the board.

Hello ossiblue

I know this link, but also here it's not clear how the back(V-shape) rubber is positioned.
Should the "V" point to the front of the car or at the back?

Regards
Porscheke

Installing rear seal with roof in place

Hi,

I'm also trying to reinstall the rear seal. In my case, the sunroof is still in.
My question: is it possible to install the rear seal with the sunroof installed?

Kind regards,

D@vid

It is not possible, you have to remove it.

Maybe you can take a close picture of this seal just to know how it is orientated ?

Old seal is gone

Hi Porscheke,

The old seal is gone, new one is ready to be installed, so I can't tell you how the original seal was installed.
Somehow I hoped that when I'd open the roof just a little bit, it would go down just enough to install the new seal.

With kind regards,

D@vid

Porscheke,

I found this from an old post. Source is John Walker, a man to be trusted.

"No, don't put both seals on the panel. gotta do it right. remember, the felt seal is not an absolute water seal. if it was, there would be no need for drains. it keeps the majority of the water out, and the drain channels, rear V shaped rubber seal, and drain tubes take care of the rest. The V faces forward, and is actually closer to the felt seal than you had it.the overlap is just one of those things that makes people familiar with the breed notice that it's done correctly, so you look professional. kind of like body shops that paint over the cowl seals, and various trim strips, or clear silicone paste sealing up window rubber."

Here's the link to the entire thread:

What did I do wrong with these sunroof seals?

For more pics, do the advanced search, highlight 911 technical fourm, and type in "rear sunroof seal"
