There are platinum plugs. Irridium plugs. Plugs with multiple electrodes. Pretty soon you'll see plugs with computer chips. Plugs using kryptonite. You know what is the best plug we've found for our cars? Plain ol' copper-core single-electrode units. Bosch is good. My favorite has become NGK.

Absolutely NO basis in fact. A spark plug ignites the fuel/air mixture...period.

The air-fuel mixture in the cylinder doesn't explode unless something is very wrong. It burns. The burn should be a high speed event which is why designers work to increase the speed of the burn by designing in turbulence and swirl.

If the fuel explodes it is called ping or detonation and it breaks parts and destroys motors. (The only exception to this is a diesel engine which only sounds like it is beating itself to death...)

'Magic' sparkplugs are basically attempts to part your money from your wallet. You can't get the air-fuel mixture to be "more burnt". Either it burns or it doesn't. True improvement comes in the form of increasing the system's ability to avoid misfire. This means either you can go longer before you have components degrade or (especially on turbo systems) avoiding the tendency of it to be harder for a spark to jump as the cylinder pressure rises.

If it is burning on every compression stroke then you have nothing to fix.
