Ball joints have notch
For future DIYers - ball joints have a notch that fits over a tab in the ball joint socket in the A-arm - I didn't get my tab lined up with the notch (cause I did not look carefully at the ball joint fitment) - just to keep you on your toes - common sense helps alot, if you use it!

What repair manual are you using?
 I always review the steps no matter how many times I have done the same project. We are not machines and are not on a repetitive assembly line. Between one type of a project and the next time you do this, you could have done 200 other things to the car.

You're right - just getting old & tired - easier to mess-up than it used to be.
Thanks for the reminder! Just so you know, I have Bentley's, Haynes & just received the factory manuals - the only way I have a chance of doing this stuff is with this board & my manuals. Thanks, Goosh |

Hi Milt - I just looked at the Bentley manual and there was no mention of the notch in the ball joint - what's up with that? Goosh
