Question Best Tire for your 911. Community Feedback : )

Not to beat the issue to death as many issues have been during the years in the forums..but as each year goes by, we find better tires and have more experience to share. I am in the market for some new summer/performance tires for my '90 C4/964(currently 205/50ZR17 front and 255/40ZR17 back). I know its late in the season to fire up this question, but hey, there is always fall and next year . I just wanted some feedback from some fellow pelicans on tires selection. Brand? Miles? Noise? Control? Of course I am looking for a dry road, high performance tire for those long sunday drives through the mountain corners. How are the PZero's? Heard good and bad about them, including they are very noisy on the road. I think this topic could be helpful to many pelicans. Again, just trying to update myself and the community not trying to beat the issue to death. Thanks

Jess:

I am sure you will get a bucket load of responses and opinions on this subject. It really depends on what your expectations are and what you are willing to spend. FWIW, I just replaced my second set of Yokohama ES100's with Hankook RS2's 225x50x16 & 245x45x16. The Hankooks are an attractive tire. I have 700 miles on them and they seem at least as good or better than the ES100's. Finally, they are definitely on the low cost end of the spectrum and, therefore, may be the best bang for the buck performance tire out there.

I have been very happy with my Sumitomos HTRZ II, on my 17's (Cups) I started with 205/50 up front, and recently switched to 225/45 with 255/40, fit ok. I also liked them on my extensive road trip, many roads with tweesties in the Sierra Nevadas, and much more.(:
