Performance of backdated heater in SF?

Hi,

I just reinstalled heating system on my 75 911s and I'm having problems with the motor switch staying on and the motor making a lot of noise.

Due to the problems, I'm thinking of backdating to eliminate the blower.

It would be great if some bay area pelicans could chime in to let me know how well their heat works after backdating.

thanks,

dale

Backdated heat works fine. The biggest difference is that the heat will not blow as hard while idling (fan not spinning as fast), but it will keep you nice and toasty when the car is moving. The second biggest difference is that you will actually be able to work in your engine compartment without first removing all of the heater crap.

Defrost works great, but that's powered by a separate blower in the dash.

Worked better backdated than it did with the blower.
