Seperate ball joint for bilstien Shock
Does anyone know of a way to separate the ball joint from the bilstien shocks? I have tried ball joint forks with no luck.

Spray Kroil into the wedge pin hole and soak for a few days. Some heat on the shock bottom (not too much and only around the B joint rod) may help too. Be sure to Neverseize the area when you rebuild it....

ball joint separator
Hi
The correct way, with a ball joint separator, usually pretty cheap at your local Chinese tool import shop. The wrong way--ball joint fork and a sharp strike with a hammer. Not on top of the threads but on the side where the taper goes through the hole. Really not recommended unless you are going to discard the ball joint and shock tower. |
