Condenser Fan Motor Replacement

So I have a bad condenser fan motor on my 85 Targa. No surprise from reading these forums, they all go bad eventually.

In order to avoid the extreme cost of an entire now housing, I sourced a replacement motor. Here's the problem - the fan on my bad motor is rusted on the shaft and I can't seem to get it off without destroying it!

Anyone have a solution or (preferably) a source for a replacement fan blade. A used blade is fine as long as it's off of the old shaft.

Thanks gang.

Targa todd,

I just replaced the fan motor on my '86 with a fan & motor assembly I got from another Pelican, Fred Cook. The motor on the one I removed is toast - not sure if the fan will come off easily or not but I will check tonight when I get home. If so it's your's for cost of shipping.

targa todd,

You are in luck. A little WD-40 and gentle tap on the motor shaft and the fan is off! No mangling involved whatsoever. PM me with your address & I will drop the fan & set screw in the mail tomorrow. There are advantages to living in Arizona. No water = no rust!

No problem. Interesting story, this fan is available because last week another Pelican, Fred Cook, sent me his motor/fan assembly after mine burned out & I was looking for a place to buy a replacement other than the $300 new fan/motor/housing assembly. So I'm glad to be able to pay the favor forward.
