Suspension Pan Reinforcement Question
Before i embark on this, i want to poll the collective knowledge of the forum on the validity of a reinforcement idea that i have for the suspension pan. I have searched but couldn't find anything on this topic, so here goes..
I am in the process of replacing my suspension pan and front gas tank support as there was some significant rust in the area between the front torsion bar mounts. While in the process I was thinking of welding an angle-iron support between the 2 torsion bar mounts in the recess of the pan before i cover the pan with the gas tank support. Has anyone done this before? and what do you think about this idea, is this just adding weight or will it have some benefit? Here are some pictures that might explain a little better what i mean. I haven't done any cutting of the angle iron yet but just to show what type of angle iron i will be using. thanks Gert http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1188590846.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1188591088.jpg |
A solution for a non-problem. The suspension pan does an excellent job on its own. No need to over re-enforce.

Thanks for clearing that up
