Pictures of platinum early 911 ???

Was there such a beast as a platinum (an SC color) on early 911s ?

I've had backdating on my mind for a long time now (not RS, just an S spoiler, SC flares are here, no tail). My SC's front end already looks like it went through a sandblaster for 180K miles, and it so happens that all new and painted backdate parts would remedy this easily, without having to repaint the whole car. Truth be told, I'd rather do a color change to a flat dark grey, but a good paint job for a color change means glass out and a lot more work, so more $$$$$ compared to bolting on a new set of fenders, bumper and hood...

Any pictures of a platinum (not gold) early 911 to get an idea what that might look like ? I've seen picts of a platinum RS clone and I'm so-so on the idea, but it'd be so much cheaper than a full repaint that I'd like to see what it may look like...

That's platinum for those who wonder:

And don't trust digital pictures, the front end is chewed up...

Nice photo, Great loking car.

There are some close to Platinum Metallic colors on early cars. But, sheesh man, Don't do it. You know that SC looks great in the photo. Just clean up the paint on the front (if the patina bothers you)

If you really want that whimpy cute look of an early, just buy one already done.

...my unbiased opinion.

Platinum color was one of two choices for the 1980 SC Weissach coupes. Here a shot of my SC on the top of Mt. Evans last summer. It is an somewhat odd color but I think the wheels accent it. YMMV.
