First Engine Drop...

Howdy, here's a pix of my first engine removal to replace the clutch, adjust the valves and other "while I'm here" projects. I designed the fixtures which made lifting the body safe and easy, albeit you'll need two engine hoists. Everything went well, except it helps to undo the ground strap at the transmission.

When I went to remove the clutch and pressure plate it didn't want to come out so I used a slide hammer on the throw out bearing. With a few tugs on the slide hammer the clutch and pressure plate came right out of the fly wheel. I'm replacing the throw out bearing so no pain, no gain... I doubt it would have hurt it anyway.

Man, there's a lot of plumbing and wire connections, I hope they all go back on where they came from...

Congrats on the drop! Those fixtures look interesting. Good job. And keep an eye on your "while I'm here" stuff. It'll bite you. Many of us here and started similar tasks and totally blew the budget. However, I'm very happy with the results and wouldn't change a thing. ;)

Post more pics!
