This may seem like a dumb question but, how was the car running prior to the spark plug change? The reason I ask is, it would be nice to know what type of syptoms you were experiencing.

Second, I agree with Steve, plugs are a little on the hot side at least from what I can see in the photo.

The car was running fine and if I hadn't performed a routine plug change, I would have been none the wiser.

Continuity is arbitrarily defined in your VOM as a resistance smaller than [insert some value, probably < 100 Ohms]. Thus, resistance of 3 K Ohms probably won't register as continuity.

At this point, I'd probably run a compression test (while the plugs are out), put in all new wires, new stock plugs, put some Techron in the tank, and run it for a thousand miles. Then I'd have another look at the plugs. Assuming of course the car runs well with the new components installed ...

Sounds like a plan.

(Last compression test was about 2 years ago and it was 155 across the board)

Thank you everyone for your help. Hopefully it is not the valves and I get many more miles out of the girl without having to rebuild.

I am going to replace my wires with these from http://kingsborne.com/wire.htm. 7mm copper 19 strand.

I am going to request Kingsborne crimp on the M3 threaded sleeve on loose wire which I will cut to size, and I will handle the distributor ends.

My question is should order new distributor and coil connectors? Pricing on the net is around $7.99 for the distributor and coil connectors, or should I transfer my current ones and put them on the new wire?

I am going to reuse my Beru connectors as all but one tested at specs.
