Help replacing sump plate.
I stripped the threads on my sump plate by over tightening the plug. I purchased a billet replacement plate that is thicker and requires longer studs. Anyone have any tips on taking the shorter studs out and replacing with the longer studs provided?

Some heat helps to loosen the studs around the plate... However I'd be careful and use a heat gun in this area rather than a propane torch. Witht he cover off any fumes up in your case could ignite.
Snap-on and others make a nice stud remover, otherwise double-nut them and try that. |
double nut them

i had the same issue on other car. i just bought a replacement factory plate and avoided changing the studs. cheap enough ($40ish). besides, i thought fighting those tiny studs was not a "wise battle".

Do the best you can with prepping the studs before you try to remove them, they snap pretty easily. If one or more seem like it (they) won't come out, I'd go with a factory plate.
