AC hose removal?

New Porsche owner questions!

1. Can the engine be accessed from behind the rear seats?
2. How do I remove the ac condenser lines/hoses, 1 is on the right rear , 1 is on the left rear? I want them out!

Thanks......I hope you all do not get tired of these rookie questions, I am counting on you all and this site to school me!

The hoses are easy to remove. It's just a messy, time-consuming job. Get under the car (after safely putting it on jack stands) and you'll see where the hoses run.

1. No, not without a cutting torch and major structural damage. Fairly easy to lower it (take it out) tho.

2. See above.

This a a GREAT site. All the help you need.

Got a/c compressor brackets? I'm looking for a set.

I've just recently done this. Basically remove all the mounting clips from the hoses beneath the car. You can spray some silicon on them so they slide out a little easier. Then just get underneath and pull them out from the bottom.

I recommend wearing some safety glasses when you do this. So much dirt accumulates around these hoses that when you start moving them around and pull them out it all starts to shake loose...right in your face.

I was filthy when I completed this job.

tcar,
I just took all of the AC stuff off of my car, I have the brackets if you are interested in them. I have the (I guess original) compressor "York" and the condensor but it is rough.
Let me know what you want.
Thanks,
Frank

Frank,
Sent you a couple PM's. Don't need the compressor, just brackets w/ nuts/bolts.
Thanks
Tom

Hi, I just replaced all of my AC hoses on the same model. If your just going to remove and not replace, all you have to do is loosen all connections and hose clamps ( you'll have to jack up the car and it helps to remove the tires) from underneath the back cut the hoses where they start to go up into the engine compartment, right by the heater hoses. Pull out the section from the engine compartment. Hoses go all the way to front drivers side wheel fender and then across to front bonnet area where the evaporator is housed. Its a little work but cutting them makes things alot easier. George
