Uhhh...Take a look down the throats of the right side webers please
Cylinder #4 carb throat:
Next throat behind that: And finally, the normal looking 3rd throat in the back: ![]() Am I looking at 2 melted auxiliary venturi tubes? The K&N filter has a melted spot on it corresponding to these locations, so it looks at there was some kind of firey spit-up in the past. How difficult to rectify this situation? Do you recommend fully rebuilding the carbs while I'm at it? Any advice is appreciated.

is that some kind of melted rubber in the first to pics or is that melted metal? I would use about 2 cans carb cleaner and clean the **** out of those

I'm so dumb...I just had an epiphany...the melted stuff is *probably* melted glob from the rubber filter element lining...
I mean,. it would have to get awfully hot to melt those tubes themselves...I guess it's time to yank the carbs from the car, and go through them. I'll be ordering a carb rebuild kit tommorrow. And a new K&N filter or two.

Time for new ones and furthermore, dealihng with what caused them to melt in the first place,.....
