What year car is it? Sometimes the look of color hues changes on different monitors.

It's not cork, it's regular old tan. Cork is very dark orange, the last photo looks orange-ish due to lighting, but the other ones are unmistakably 8 shades lighter than cork.

1979 Turbo interior was offered in Cork interior, among others, but not tan. Source: Peter Morgan, Original Porsche 911.

ugh........... so It's cork and not tan? as it's stated that tan wasn't a 79 930 option..
But Speeder you say it's not even close to cork. I am wanting to know so I can have the color matched.. So should I start a PILL? to see how many say cork vs. tan?
or should I try to take more pictures in better lighting?

THANKS GUYS! I love this BBS.

Nope, Speeder is correct (it's not Cork). Cork is a "variegated" factory color and is easy to distinguish as such. In other words, it has sort of a faux suede or marbled appearance/pattern, not just a solid shade. The pic that GaryR posted is Cork.

This pic is hard to see the marbling of the cork but you can tell if you look closely.

It's not cork. But, you shouldn't trust pictures on a computer to determine color. If you're buying something that needs to match, get a sample of cork and tan. It will be obvious which one it is, maybe neither.
Sad story:
My interior looks just like speeder's. My seats needed recovering and based on pictures off the Internet, I decided it was cork. When I got the seat covers it was obvious they didn't match. I tried them anyway and they looked horrible. Maybe someday I'll sell them on eBay, they were non-returnable. Ended up getting the company that made the covers to send me samples of several colors and I got an exact match. The new covers look great, but it was an expensive mistake.

Not meaning to jack a thread but,

Speeder, just to verify. The interior of your car is tan, correct. I've got the exact interior and could never figure which color it actually was.

Rory,

Sorry if I only added to the confusion. The problem, as someone else stated, comes from the light source of the photo and the computer screen. I can say that the post GaryR did, with the door photo, looks on my screen, almost exactly like my cork interior, excepts slightly darker, which may be due to 30 years of fading. If your interior is different from that, then it must be something else. Cork does have some tonal variation within a panel as part of its character.

Equality's chart comes quite close to the look of cork, as well. It is a little lighter than Gars's photo, and is probably closest to my car.

If you material is like Speeder's seats in the photo then I would say that would be tan , although his seats and doors seem to vary quite a bit, and it looks more yellow rthan your photos.

As was said, cork has an orangy quality and has variations in its tone. This is vinyl. Is it possible your interior is leather, and has been dyed or even redyed to a spec? Especially since, as was said, your year did not come in tan?

Is your interior significantly different from the GaryR post picture, and if so, how?
