Electrical help please!!!!!

Hi guys, need some help with the wiring for the lights. I have tested the wiring with a test light so I know what wire goes where. So far so good. I put the lights together with brand new bulbs. Everything worked fine the first day.

The following day everything works except the blinkers. The relay makes a buzzing sound when I put the blinkers on. Four way flashers work but the blinkers buzz. I thought maybe the relay was getting tired so I ordered a new one, but still have the same problem.

If I pull the bulbs out and touch the copper element inside the socket with the test light everything seems to be ok. Put the bulb back in and the buzzing comes back and no blinking. Test light blinks.....bulbs buzz.

Pulled all the lights back out to start fresh with just the wires. Touch the wires with the test light and it seems to be ok. But now I have the lost the power to the right side tail light. What am I doing wrong?

You may have a single element bulb in one of the rear sockets. Check each bulb. Remember the rears use dual element bulbs with a two contact socket. The buzzing relay is likely the extra current draw. Also check the socket to be sure the contacts aren't touching each other. The fronts are single element, single contact.

Thanks Doug, yeah I checked the bulds out. I even put the original bulbs back in with no luck. Any more ideas?

also, check your grounds. you are most likely connecting your test light to the body, which makes a good ground for the light but does not check the return side of the circuit.
