73 short shifter/shift knob
 

I'm contemplating putting a factory short-shift kit in my 73.5. This seems like a good idea all around ... except for the shift knob. It appears that the retaining crush sleeve for the 73 is NLA... can someone please tell me what my alternatives are? Does the short-shift kit use a different diameter than the stock?

Wrap some race tape around the handle until it is thick enough then jam the knob back on ;-)
