what mirrors do I have????
Hi all,
Still in the process of the C2 upgrade on my little SC and I was fortunate enought to find what was said to be an AERO mirror (driver's side electric) for a mere $75 bucks. Well, the item fit to a "T" and really looks cool. So, I set off looking for the other one as to have a pair (thought of going solo like a testarossa but naaaah.) So, I contacted a porsche parts outfit and bought a mirror from a 1995 993 which the gentleman said was the exact same mirror -- I said there was a difference in the base from what I knew and he reassured me there wasn't and the piece would fit. Well, I put it on yesterday and it does fit fine...however, it has a shorter base and sits closer to the car/window. Can I buy a base to replace this one or the other one so they "match"? Rob

Rob,
The aero mirrors off a 911 are the same as far as the bases are concerned. They do mount in different places on the door and are different distances away from the windows. If you need pictures I can go take some in a while and post them. Good luck on the wiring, it took me a while to figure it out as nothing matched what I could find on line. Edit I just went and looked at the mirrors on the car, the bases are slightly different, you have the correct parts from your discription.
