Torsion bar covers on widebody - mods
Hi all,
I am in the process of building an IROC replica from a widebody SC. It has the below pictured torsion bar covers - not the anticipated small round hole with cover plate. This cover plate rolls under the rocker and is waay bigger. Has anyone else modified this type of opening into the more traditional smaller torsion bar access hole? I guess I'll have to cut up and fabricate from the existing parts, or cut this section from some used sheetmetal. Just thought I'd check before I go about this.. ![]()

That is the torsion hole from a G50 car. There is no functional reason to modify it, only aesthetic.

I'd cut up some donor fenders for the correct holes and graft them in (like mini-flare installations).

I guess someone installed G50 flares on my SC. Thanks for the advice Keith - I agree that will be the easiest solution.
