What is a decent idle for an SC? It runs great but the idling seems a little high...1.5 or so...maybe a tad higher...

950-1050. I like mine better around 1,100, but 1,500 is high.

I like mine @1000 RPM.

thought so...mechanically, I am a complete incompetent...is there a way to adjust it myself or is it just not that simple...when she starts up, she runs beuatifully and idles fine for the first few minutes, then it tends to rise and stay there....but like I said, it runs great. Causes?

Thanks for your help,

Rob

You might have other issues that are causing the high idle. If the AAR is not closing all the way you will have a high idle.

john walker's workshop 09-13-2007 11:30 AM

big slot screw with a spring around it at 9 o'clock on the throttle housing. left hand thumb and forefinger, turn it clockwise to slow down.

Like I said...incompetent...AAR?
