if you have ever worked on american car brakes, there's a tool used to install the brake springs ( which look like a smaller version of the one pictured). it's a slightly curved rod with a cup cut into the end. the cup hooks over the anchor pin, the hooked end of the spring hooks over the tool's shaft, and as you pry the tool up, the spring slides down the shaft and onto the anchor pin. the tool is too long to clear the wheel well, but when shortened just enough to clear it, it works real well. you'll have that spring in place in a minute. out of the car, it's even easier.

Yeah, that's the easy (and smart) way to go about it. After trial and error, I was able to finally "pull" it on with a thin rope and brute force. My safety gear consisted of thick leather gloves and a rag in my mouth to protect my chops in case the spring let loose. What a comedy!!

I recommend JW's method..

I have also a problem how should the spring be placed, on the newer spring the spiral is longer than the existing one, when you look to the picture i should think that the pedal should go between the space of the spiral, but when i hold the spring next to the pedal i see a problem that the pedal not pass in the space.

SXSMAN, i ordered the spring at the local shop http://www.jomaparts.be

the hook goes down at the pedal end, then things fit ok.
