Ok...so I fibbed a little. This is for my Subaru, not my Porsche. But, you guys are all geniuses, so I thought you could help.
I have two exhaust studs on my Subaru Legacy that have stripped and pulled out of the (soft, aluminum) head. What's my best bet to try and fix it? JB Weld? Or should I try to drill it out and put a bigger stud in the head? Or...? Thanks.

did they come out of the head or not? if they are out and you have some stud left, I would make a jig to drill out the remaining stud. If they came out but the threads in the head are now bad, then you need to tap them. take some pics and post them.

helicoil kit. basically taps in a new thread and you put in a new stud. Do not overtorque the stud when you button things back up.

That's what I was thinking.
I'll see if my local supplier has one. Thanks!

That's essentially what I got. It is a 9/16-12 insert with an M-10 Thread on the inside. I have to drill it out, tap it with this 9/16-12 (very beefy thread) then just install normally. My thought is that I might avoid the impact this time. :P
