Window Height

Spent today putting in a new drivers side (UK 911sc Targa) window.....not as straight forward as I thought. Anyway, the window is too low of the targs side rubber strip by about 4/5mm. It is possible to pull the glass up a bit, say 2 or 3mm and I have unscrewed a few screws in the rubber to let it drop a bit but the window still isn't a great fit. However when I use the electric window down and then up it returns to being about 4/5mm too low.
I have read various threads in the forum but nothing that nails it. Can the targs rubber strip really be lowered by removing then refixing as one thread suggests?
Any help would be great as the rain is coming

Do you have a Bentley manual? Wayne's book? They show how to adjust the window so it goes to where you want it.
