Brake light help please!

I’m having problems with my brakes, and would REALLY appreciate some help. I have an 81 that has been sitting for too long. The rear turn signals work fine, but my brake lights are non-functional.

I ordered two master cylinder brake switches and replaced the front switch. I was told that the two switches were redundant for safety so I plugged the front switch in and still see no brake lights.

Can someone tell me the wiring switch pin outs so I can jump the pin and see if I have brakes? Are the switches redundant, can I just jump the front switch and expect to see brake lights?

What is the next thing to look for?

Thanks!

What are S1, S2, & S3?

Is there any reason you just didn't install both while you were in there?

Even though I've been told that the switches are redundant, I would probably start by replacing the other switch since you already purchased it. Its not likely but who knows, maybe the new one that was installed was bad?

The rear looks like a PITA and I wanted to see if it was the switch or something more. I’ll change the rear one tomorrow, would still really appreciate the switch pin designation so I can bypass and see if the light works, if anyone knows. Everything up front is still unbuttoned; I’ll throw in the other switch in the AM.

Here's the electrical diagram including the brake switches and the mechanical switch I added to the brake light circuit:

Basically I put a mechanical switch between S1 and S3 (82a and 81 in the diagram) and left the ground/"check brake light" (S2, 81a) connected to the pressure switch. So if you jumped S1 and S3, the brake lights should come on.

Make sure the wire that goes to S2 is black in colour.

Thank you, this is just what I was looking for.
