When will we run out of 911s to part out?

So many 911s on the classified section are being parted out, or is that just the way it goes to help the less fortunate. Some of the cars don't seem to be that bad of shape. Is it just a money making thing or what?
I'm pretty new to the used Porsche world, got my 79 SC in March and it pains me to see so many 911s being pulled apart.
What gives?

Myself, I have a 1974 911S. I think the tide will turn very soon.:) These old cars must be more $ worth after a rebuild or just having a rolling renovation and beeing sold complete, than been stipped of their separate parts and sold as a parts bin!:o

It breaks my hart to see them dismantled, if not after a heavy accident...

When you read what prices an RS-clone or back-dated early-type build make, I cannot understand why anyone would sell a repairable car for 2000 dollars!

I am with you in your pain...

Greetings, Ole PetterSmileWavy

In one way it's kind of sad but on the other hand a lot of these parts are no longer available and parts cars are our only hope for keeping the fleet going.

Besides, my car will probably out live me so I don't get too choked up about it. We're all just renters eventually. :)

A bigger question is when will the after-market industry figure out that there is a demand for quality Porsche replacement sheet metal.
