Anyone going to this tonight? Should be fun.

I went. I saw you but didn't get a chance to talk to you. Good time, saw some of the people from the Florence Cruise and Drive. I drove a Cayman and was unimpressed. All of the limiters and traction control took away from the driving experience. I would much rather drive my old 930 than the new models. They are way too refined in my opinion. They are nice for a daily driver if you want a car that takes no effort but the "fun factor" was not there.

Well I did and it was well worth it. I didn't stay for the twilight airshow but I'm sure that was good too. I got to test drive (pretty aggressively) a new Cayman S and a new 911. The Cayman S was pretty nice to toss around and had good power. I did about 100 mph on the longest straight. The 911 was of course a 911. It was great and a very different machine compared to my 1974 911! I reached a little over 125 mph! They had a course set up on an airplane taxi way and another runway. Kind of like a tri-oval but with sharper turns. What a blast. Someone also had a Ferrari 599 that they were ripping up...sounded pretty good.
Thanks Beechmont Porsche for a great time. Chris

Should have yelled at me. It was fun. I agree with the Cayman. It would make a good daily driver though.

The Ferrari is owned by the owner of Beechmont's lawyer. He bought it for this event and drove the snot out of it. he wasn't even past the break in period. But hell, if you can buy a car like that just to bring out to this you don't care. He was hitting 150+ on the back stretch.
